Get the Smile of Your Dreams With Veneers
Dental veneers are custom-made, tooth-mimicking shells that fit over the front of your teeth. They conceal cracks, chips, stains, colour discrepancies, and other perceived cosmetic imperfections.
Veneers are one of the most common cosmetic dentistry treatments. There are several types of veneers available, depending on your specific goals and budget; this includes removable veneers, which can be applied and removed on an as-needed basis.
Once you’ve gotten your veneers fitted or implemented, remember to come in for periodic dental cleanings to keep them in their best shape!
The Benefits of Veneers
Veneers dramatically enhance the appearance of your smile while seamlessly blending in with your pre-existing natural teeth
Veneers resist staining better than your natural tooth enamel
Dental veneers don’t require any additional dental maintenance and, with proper care, can last between 10 and 15 years on average
Background on Veneers
Dental veneers were first developed by Californian dentist Charles Pincus in 1928 for a patient of his who was working as an actor. His only downfall? Not knowing to offer a cement or bond that would hold his veneers in place over time.
With the development of enamel etching by Dr. Michael Buonocore in 1959 (as well as porcelain with hydrofluoric acid by Simonsen and Calamia in 1982), it was determined just how effectively porcelain bonds to teeth with composite resins. Thus modern veneers were born!
